So this week you've guys have had a lot discussions about what it means to review something. We've talked about the four elements of a Movie Plot Analysis:
Condensed Plot Synopsis: The condensed Plot Synopsis is the part of the review that talks about the plot. Remember that this shouldn't go over every detail of the plot. It should hit the major points of the plot without giving away all of the details. Remember that if you're going to talk about spoilers, this should be marked.
Background Information: Background information includes the director, producer(s), names of the actors, and possibly the cinematographer.
Abbreviated Arguments About the Film: This part of the review is where you actually do a critique of the film. What do you think of the film? Did the plot make sense? What is the driving force behind the characters and do they get it? If so, how?
Evaluation: What is your recommendation for the film? Would you recommend this film to someone? Why or why not? What kind of person is going to like this film? Why would they like it?
Directions: Watch the following episode of Family Matters and type a mini review of it. It should be about two paragraphs long. After you've completed the review, email it to me at Brandon.James@inwoodacademy.org
